I've never liked the TENN. set-up of 3A for most sports and 5A for football, so I like the change, although it does have a little flaw.
The Board of Control decided to make fb 3A also starting in Fall, 2009, but increasing to 6 champs, using a diff. method than us.
First, since A has fewer schools, they'll only have 24 teams qualify, while 2A & 3A have 32.
Next, NO point system will be used. All district champs & runners-up qualify, along with up to half of the teams in each class in each district.
(If the final district standings are :
2A, 2A, 2A, 2A, 1A, 1A, 1A, 1A - the teams that finished 1st, 2nd, 5th & 6th go to the post-season
1A, 1A, 1A, 1A, 1A, 2A (0-10) - the teams that finished 1st, 2nd & 6th go to the post-season)

The problem is the TSSAA is using an amost duplicate system as the VHSL. The points system is basically all thats different, and we all know how bad this system is.
